Curry and turmeric stains can be a pain to remove right! Something that always works for me no matter the kind of stain I need removing from my clothes is Vanish Oxi Fabric Stain Remover.

Here’s a video which shows me demonstrating how to use Vanish for stain removal:

  1. Fill your sink with warm water
  2. Add half a scoop of Vanish Oxi Action fabric stain remover to the water and also to the stain
  3. (Pre-treat): Add some water to the stain and gently rub the Vanish Oxi action and water into the stain. Do this in circular motions, for about a minute.
  4. Allow the garment to soak in hot water for 30 minutes
  5. After 30 minutes, remove the garment from the water. Give the stain another rub for about a minute. Et Voila, the stain will have vanished!

Other ways to remove clothes stains

Not got Vanish to hand? Don’t worry! Here are three more ways to remove those stains!

Liquid Surf

  1. Dampen the stain with some warm water and gently rub some liquid surf into the stain with your fingers.
  2. Allow the garment to soak in some warm water with another splash of liquid surf for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes give the stain another rub with your fingers, and this should remove the stain!

Baking Soda and water

Baking soda is a great alkaline compound, which can help to remove fabric stains. Here’s how to make a stain remover with baking powder:

  1. Make a paste by mixing two heaped tablespoons of baking powder with a quarter cup of warm water.
  2. Rub this paste into the stain and allow to sit for an hour before rinsing with warm water

White Vinegar

White vinegar is an excellent stain-fighting ingredient. Here’s how to use it to remove fabric stains:

  1. Fill a cup or bowl with enough vinegar to saturate the stained areas of the fabric
  2. Soak the fabric in the vinegar for 30 minutes
  3. Wash the garment as usual in your washing machine
